Cottage Style with Village Convenience

At the red door in the revitalized 1860 Fowlds’ house on Front Street in The Village of Hastings’, The Doors Guest House is a self-contained suite with kitchen, bath, private entrance and garden access. Explore the Village of Hastings and surrounding area while relaxing in an international artist’s decor. Take a Heritage Walking Tour of the Village composed by proprietor Skye Morrison and her colleague Des Connacher of the Trent Hills Heritage Advisory Committee. Enjoy the Japanese Garden in back and the open park property with water access across the street. The suite is accessible, child and pet friendly.

In 2012 Hastings became Canada’s Ultimate Fishing Village. The Doors Guest House is fishing and boat friendly. You can walk to docks and bridges to fish in town. If you have a small boat and trailer there is parking with an electrical hook up.

We have joined the Ontario Cycling Network and offer amenities for cyclists including rugs to park your bicycles inside the suite, proximity to groceries and other amenities and special rates for weekday stays during the summer. Hastings is a hub of the Trans Canada Trail and is also an excellent stopping point between Peterborough and Northumberland Counties road biking trails.

The single Guest Suite features private front and back entrances, efficiency kitchen, with complete cooking facilities, private bathroom with fully accessible roll in shower, private door to the garden, BBQ, garden dining gazebo and parking at the rear with an electrical hook up.
