Cottage Style with Village Convenience
In 2012 Hastings became Canada’s Ultimate Fishing Village. The Doors Guest House is fishing and boat friendly. You can walk to docks and bridges to fish in town. If you have a small boat and trailer there is parking with an electrical hook up.
We have joined the Ontario Cycling Network and offer amenities for cyclists including rugs to park your bicycles inside the suite, proximity to groceries and other amenities and special rates for weekday stays during the summer. Hastings is a hub of the Trans Canada Trail and is also an excellent stopping point between Peterborough and Northumberland Counties road biking trails.
The Doors Guesthouse is fully wheelchair accessible and available for respite care. There is a double bed next to a working wood stove and single adjustable (hospital) bed and a foldout Sealy single couch in the living room area. Smart TV and DVD Player are included with secure WIFI. There is a small free library and you can ask to keep books you have started. The suite accommodates up to four people, two singles and a double bed.
We are an eco-friendly smoke free facility with ceiling fans and opening windows, spring water and energy efficient lighting. Accommodations situated in the heart of the village next door to Jaings Chinese Restaurant with the Bridgewater Café, The Captains Table, Mcgillicafey’s, Hastings House Restaurant nearby and Banjo’s across the Bridge. We are steps from the grocery and liquor stores.
